Boats

I had a cool outing with the guys.We went to Sulphur Point to look at all the fancy boats,it was a lovely morning out with my mates.

My adventure

Last week we went to kaka street playground I was very brave and went on the wheel that spins around fast.

Palmers garden centre

I enjoyed my outing to palmers garden centre. Especially all the Christmas decorations inside

Arohanui X factor

The X factor finals happened yesterday.  I had a very important job being a judge.

Sports outting

Last week at sports outting I got to have a go at poi throwing.

Trip to the Men's Shed

We went to the Men's Shed at the Histoical Village to have a look at what men do!  The place was full of creative wooden models that the guys had spent a long time on.  

Fire Station

We visited the Firestation to deliver a gift of a clay fire truck made at Arohanui.It was a "thank you "gift to the service men and women who had visited us.

My peers and I went for a walk into Greerton township to visit the hobby shop. I had a great time looking at all the different types of transport available.

Cricket match

We had a cricket match against Te Puke.  Diane helped me bat and I managed to score us a few runs

Outting

On Monday I went to memorial park I stepped out of my comfort zone and walked up the playground with Nigel it was very high up there but I really enjoyed it.

Te Puke visit

Last week I went out to the Te puke centre for my first visit. We competed in a Tri studio trimester I got to help Gayleen look after the oranges!

Sensory app

Today I am learning to use the sensory app on the iPad.

Police in our community

Our local constable paid us a visit to let us know about all the important jobs that the police do in our community.  They don't just arrest the bad people! The also educate the younger generation about the importance of behaving and belonging to the community.  I think I look quite handsome in a uniform!

Windy outting

Last Monday we decided to go on an outing to ferguson park in mauta. Well the wind was crazy we almost got blowed away but it was great for all the kite suffers we saw out on the water having so much fun!

Soccer tournament

Over the past month we have been practicing our soccer skills in sports outing each week, last week we we challenged Wilrose centre for a game of soccer, it was a lot of fun!!!

A visit from the fire truck

We've been looking at all different forms of transport lately in guys group. We were lucky enough to have a visit from the local fire station with there truck, it was great fun.

The Waterfront

We had a lovely walk around the Waterfront at the Strand in Tauranga. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed looking over at the boats on the water.

Feeding the Ducks

We had a great outing to Carmichael reserve. There were lots of ducks and we got to get really close to them. we took a loaf of bread to feed them

Helping Out.....

Yesterday at work I was a big help helping out at clean up time by drying the dishes!

Mosaicing

Took a picture of ourselves and turned into a mosaic, thought it looked pretty cool and I would share it with you all

Soccer Skills

I have been enjoying sports outings at the parks around Tauranga. We are learning soccer skills at the moment which is pretty cool.

Sponge Painting

I had a great session in art. I used the stick and sponge and pushed the paint down onto the paper to make patterns. 

Mossops Honey

We had a outing to Mossops this week. We were able to taste test the different honeys and we watched the bees in the big hive looking for the Queen bee!

Historic Village Boardwalk

Last week I went for a long walk with my friend Damon.I chatted all the way.We looked at then plants and listened to the birds.Then we visited the skatepark....I felt good after I climbed to the top of the ramp!!

Tai Chi

Every second week we have Tai Chi for our sports programme. I have been joining in with the group and having fun.

Lunch out

I had a great time out with guys group at the Tauranga Citizens Club.I really enjoyed the roast chicken lunch and the pavlova and cheesecake dessert !!

Autumn Walks

We have had some nice walks in Tauranga over the last few weeks, looking at all the trees with their coloured leaves.

Garden Art

We picked out some flat pebbles today at the Rock Shop, for our new garden project :-)

Touch

I have been getting out of my comfort zone and getting used to lots of different touch objects, feeling them and checking out what they do.

IPads

I have been getting used to the IPads this week. I now enjoy the touch band drums and keyboard and today I practised 'swiping' the photo's across.

Pottery

Yesterday I had a go at pottery, it was great fun!!!!! Tame helped me to roll out the clay.i used the cutter and made a little fish.

A visit from Tommy Kapai Wilson

Tommy Wilson who is a New Zealand Choldren's author came into work yesterday to see us. He read us two of his books and gave us all a personally autographed book to keep. What a great man!

Enjoying the weather

We had a lovely walk to see the trees in Greerton which are dropping all their leaves at the moment.

Tauranga Racecourse

I had a great walk around the race course on Friday. The tractor was mowing so we got to watch him along with all the other things going on there.

I love discovering new noises in music

I have just discovered that when I use my hand muscles, the ooga ooga horn makes a fantastic noise!

Camping

Yesterday for guys group we put up a tent on the front lawn of the centre. We have been learning about camping in guys group and checking out camping gear and tents.

S.P.C.A

This morning we went and donated some Dog and Cat food to the S.P.C.A. While we were there we also saw the Birds, Puppies and Cats. I enjoy the birds because they talk to us.

Marshalls Animal Farm

Yesterday we had a great day out at Marshalls Farm. I patted the small animals like the Guinea Pigs and was also able to pat the horses and a pig! We had a nice picnic lunch out there. I had a great day out!

Silverbeet for dinner?

It was a lovely morning to go to the community garden and pick silver beet. All the vege's have grown so big!

Busy Week!

This week among other things I went to the great outdoors camping shop, planted new flowers down at our Wilrose centre and enjoyed all the lights and music in the sensory room. Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Aboriginal Art

In cultural studies we have been working on the traditional art form of dot painting. Yesterday I made a canvas and even used my finger to spread the paint around.

Plant Shopping

Yesterday we went off to Mitre 10 Mega to find flower plants for our garden at Wilrose. I helped choose the plants and then looked around at fishing lines, barbecues and all the cool outdoors things they had set up.

Scarecrows

Today we started making a scarecrow. He will go out in the garden to scare the birds away so they don't eat our seeds. I wasn't sure about him at first but got used to him after a while :-)

Ten Pin

I went out to Ten Pin in Tauranga yesterday. I had a great time rolling the ball down the ramp, and got a pretty high score too! It was a great outing.

Horses and Tui's

Today we went to the Racecourse and visited the race horses at the stables. They were eating and made funny noises. We also stood under a tree and listened to the Tui sing.
