July Journies

This month has been packed with fun activities and great moments with friends! 

Drama is back after the holiday break, and it was so exciting to get started again, it is one of my favourite sessions!

For community inclusion we went to Listen Park to enjoy the fresh air and spend time out in the community. Going to Connect 20 was another big highlight, as there is nothing better than catching up with good friends over a cold drink. 

In guys group this month I got to relax with a lovely massage, which made me feel cozy and well cared for.

I’ve also spent time learning, working outdoors, and relaxing. In literacy and computers, I practiced reading out loud and enjoyed unwinding while watching my favorite shows. For gardening, I helped tidy up outside by sweeping the paths and pulling weeds to keep everything looking beautiful. 

Outside of our Arohanui program, I got to spend special quality time with my family this month, which always brings me so much comfort and joy.

Overall, it’s been a fantastic month filled with learning, fresh air, friends, and family. I’m feeling happy, refreshed, and I can’t wait to see what next month brings!

June update

 This month has been full of fun things that I’ve really enjoyed.

I’m still loving drama, and I’m already looking forward to our next performance. One of my favourite parts is being the first person to walk onto the stage while everyone is still getting ready and catching up. I enjoy using exciting and creative words about my friends and saying their names during the performance. I’m also excited that there’s a couch on the stage this time because it makes the performance even more fun, and I love getting to use it.

I’ve also been enjoying walking to the café. It’s always nice to get out for a walk, spend time with my friends, and relax together. I really enjoy Connect 20 because it gives me the chance to see everyone, have a chat, and enjoy a nice cold drink.

In art, I’ve had a great time making and using sock puppets. It’s been really creative, and I’ve enjoyed bringing my puppet to life with different ideas and decorations. For my wellbeing, I treated myself to having my nails done, which made me feel happy, confident, and relaxed.

I also enjoyed watching the movie Wish Dragon. It was funny, heartwarming, and full of adventure. I liked the characters and the message about friendship, family, and appreciating the people who matter most.

Overall, it’s been a wonderful month filled with creativity, fun activities, time with friends, and lots of things to look forward to. I’m excited to see what next week brings!

May- Monthly update

 This month was full of fun and exciting activities with my friends.

I had a super fun afternoon at Ila Park enjoying bubbles and music, and spending time with everyone.

I really enjoyed the drama this month. It was exciting hearing about our new story and trying on different hats to create new characters. I also love walking on the stage, catching up with everyone, and using awesome words during drama. I’m very excited that there is a couch in this performance and can’t wait to use it.

I enjoyed going for walks at the Lakes to get some fresh air with my buddies, and the other day we even went to a café together.

I’m loving making new friends and catching up with old friends at Connect 20 while enjoying a nice soft drink.

I also loved the tactile sessions, especially the relaxing hand massage. 

Another favourite activity was creating beautiful pages in my personal book with my key person.

I’m excited for next month and all the fun ahead!
